The extension is installed with Composer. Which repository you add depends on where you bought it — the install itself is the same either way.

1. Connect the repository

Bought on extmag.com. Your account page shows the repository address and your personal credentials, together with the two composer config commands to paste. Run them once per project; every extension you own is then available from the same repository.

Bought on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace. The package is served from repo.magento.com, which most stores already have configured. If not, add the access keys from your Adobe account under My Profile -> Access Keys.

2. Install the extension

Run in the project root:

composer require extmag/videopro
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento cache:flush

Composer resolves the shared Extmag packages the extension depends on, so there is nothing else to require by hand.

Log out and log back into the admin, and the extension is ready.

Installing without Composer

The archive can be unpacked into app/code/Extmag/ instead, but that leaves the extension outside dependency management: its shared packages have to be installed by hand and updates never reach it. Use Composer for any store you run, demo included.

Video Pro needs no setup beyond choosing which file formats the store accepts and how the storefront player behaves. Everything else happens where you already work — the media gallery and the product form.

Configuration

1. Go to Stores -> Configuration -> Extmag -> Video Pro -> General.
   
2. Pick the formats the file browser will accept under Allowed Video Formats. MP4 and WebM together cover practically every modern browser; Ogv is a niche addition. Flv, AVI, MOV and WMV are offered so existing assets can be stored and referenced, but browsers cannot play them natively.
3. Choose the player restrictions under Controls List — hide the download button, block casting to another device, or turn off picture-in-picture.
4. Click “Save Config”. New formats apply the next time the file browser opens; changes to the controls list need a cache flush, because the player attributes are written from a cached layout block.

Uploading a video

Videos are uploaded through the standard media gallery, the same dialog images use. Video Pro adds an Upload Videos row next to Upload Images, which stock Magento does not offer.

1. Open a product and expand the Images And Videos section.
2. Click Add Video, then Select from Gallery.
   
3. In the file browser, upload the file through the Upload Videos row, or pick one already there. Files land under pub/media/wysiwyg/ — create a subfolder first if you want them organised.
4. Click Add Selected, give the video a title, then save.

The same file browser opens from the WYSIWYG editor of a CMS page or block, so a video uploaded once can be reused in product galleries, category descriptions, blocks and Page Builder content without uploading it again.

YouTube and Vimeo

Externally hosted videos still work as before. Paste the URL into the Url field of the same dialog — Vimeo works out of the box, YouTube needs an API key entered in the Magento configuration first.

On the storefront

Uploaded videos appear in the product gallery next to the images and play in the browser’s own HTML5 player, with whatever restrictions you set in the Controls List. Nothing is fetched from a third-party service, so the video keeps loading as long as your store does — no external player, no tracking, no dependency on someone else’s uptime.

Large uploads may need upload_max_filesize and post_max_size raised in php.ini; the exact values are in the Installation Guide supplied with the extension.
